Three New Deans Appointed
I am very pleased to announce the recent appointments of Deans of Instruction for Liberal Arts, Math and Sciences, and Business and Industrial Trades. Each appointment is effective July 1, 2013.
William (Billy) Reynolds was selected for the role of Dean of Instruction, Liberal Arts. Billy has served as Assistant Professor of English, Writing Center Coordinator, Instructor for eCore, Associate Professor of English, and Chair of the Department of Literature and Language at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton, Georgia. He received his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Mississippi State University, his master’s degree in English from Mississippi State University, and a Ph.D. in English Literature and Creative Writing from Western Michigan University.
Tom Buszek will be the Dean of Instruction, Business and Industrial Trades. He has served as the Dean for the Division of Workforce Education, Business Solutions, and School of Advanced Technologies at Southwestern Michigan College since 2002. Before his tenure at Southwestern he held human resources management positions at Michiana Box & Crate, Inc., Raco, Inc., and Creative Foam Corporation. Tom has also served as a Production Supervisor at Uniroyal Plastics Corporation. Additionally, he has taught in a part-time capacity for Southwestern Michigan College and Ferris State University. Tom received his bachelors of science degree with a double major in economics and labor studies from Eastern Michigan University and masters in business administration from Indiana University.
Dean McCurdy has been selected as the Dean of Instruction, Math and Sciences. Most recently, Dean served as Chair of the Biology Department at Albion College. He has held a number of other positions at Albion College including Professor of Biology, Director of the Honors Program, Associate Professor of Biology, and Assistant Professor of Biology. He has also served as the Director of Personnel and Operations for Connect Health Services Corporation and as an adjunct lecturer in Biology at Bates College and Carleton University. Dean has a bachelors of science degree in Biology from Acadia University in Nova Scotia and a Ph.D. in Biology from Carleton University in Ontario.
All three deans will be located in office space inside room 7516 at the Texas Township campus.
