Wonder Women at Work

Kalamazoo Valley will be working with KRESA’s Education for Employment program to host Wonder Women at Work on May 18. The workshop is meant to show ninth grade girls how education and industry fit together.  A group of 200 Kalamazoo County students is expected to participate. The day will include visits to Stryker Instruments and Parker Hannifin and hands-on experiences at Kalamazoo Valley in engineering, computer science, computer technology, and law enforcement.

“This event provides girls with industry tours and interaction at Parker Hannifin or Stryker Instruments, as well as hands on activities at Kalamazoo Valley.  It also helps educate students about EFE programs and course offerings at Valley that will help prepare them for their future,” said Diane Fort, KRESA’s Education for Employment Student Services Coordinator. “Past participants have said that the event motivated and gave them the confidence to consider these non-traditional careers.”
