Campus Band to Perform April 26 Spring Concert

The Campus Band will present its spring concert in Dale B. Lake Auditorium at the Texas Township Campus at 7 p.m. on April 26. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will include music from Gusav Holst's "Second Suite in F," Karl King's "The Trombone King," Mark Williams' "Fantasy on Yankee Doodle," and several other music selections.

The Campus Band was created in the fall of 2003 by the its current conductor and faculty member Chris Garrett. From the original band of 20 members, it has consistently grown over the years to an average of 50 to 60 members. Consisting of both Kalamazoo Valley students and community members, it provides a musical outlet for the Kalamazoo community for people interested in performing instrumental music. The band also presents a formal concert at the end of each semester and provides the music for the college's commencement ceremonies.
