Culinary Arts Students Prepare Holiday Desserts

Everyone loves pie and the students enrolled in the culinary arts and sustainable food systems program at Kalamazoo Valley Community College can help with your holiday entertaining. Choose one or both of the tasty treats offered for sale now through 5 p.m. on November 15. Fresh Baked Chocolate Walnut Pie or Take ‘N Bake Cherry Tart Kits are just $15 each.

Chocolate Walnut Pie

A homemade chocolate walnut pie filled with chocolate chips and walnuts. The pie is completely baked and can be stored in your refrigerator for 5 days after pick up. Ingredient list: eggs • chocolate chips • vanilla extract • corn syrup • brown sugar • unsalted butter • walnut pieces.

MI Cherry Tart Kit

This kit should be stored in your refrigerator until ready to use. In the kit, you will receive 12 pre-baked tart shells, prepared MI cherry pie filling, oatmeal streusel topping and complete instructions on how to assemble and bake the tarts. Ingredient list: sour cherries • white sugar • clear gel starch • flour • unsalted butter • brown sugar • rolled oats • pre-baked tart shells.
