2020 Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations Accepted until March 1

Do you know a Kalamazoo Valley Community College alumnus or alumna who has earned distinction in his or her career field? Are you aware of a Kalamazoo Valley alumnus or alumna that has modeled personal growth and accomplishment that reflects a transformed life or lifestyle?

Alumni+ at Kalamazoo Valley Community College is inviting students, alumni, faculty, staff and members of the community to share the names and accomplishments of outstanding Kalamazoo Valley alumni whom you believe should be considered for the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award. Alumni+ will always accept nominations for this distinction, but we are asking the public to share the names and accomplishments of Kalamazoo Valley alumni whom you believe should be considered for this distinction in 2020. Nominations previously received will remain active and be considered in the 2020 process.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College is proud to recognize its more than 300,000 alumni and chooses to publicly honor annually an alumnus or alumna of distinction for using his or her education toward personal achievement and community enhancement. The College named its first Distinguished Alumni, Jeffrey Melvin, in 2013. Since that time, five additional alumni have received the honor. They are: NoViolet Bulawayo (2014), Dr. Phillip Potter (2015), Paul Abrahamsen (2017), Grace Baysinger (2018) and Eva Ozier (2019). All alumni who receive the award are acknowledged and honored on a plaque displayed outside the president’s office at the Texas Township campus.
