Kalamazoo Valley Community College will hold Commencement on December 16
Kalamazoo Valley Community College will celebrate its 82nd commencement at 4 p.m. Dec. 16 in Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University. Nearly to 450 students are eligible to participate in the ceremony. The ceremony will be broadcast live through Public Media Network on channel 187.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College President L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D., will give the welcome address, followed by Board of Trustees Chair Jeffrey Patton. Wellness and physical education instructor Joe Brady and student Virginia Wooley also will speak. Wooley is receiving an associate of applied science degree.
The 52-year-old college has four locations - a main campus in Texas Township, the nearby Groves Campus, and the Arcadia Commons Campus and Bronson Healthy Living Campus in downtown Kalamazoo.
The college offers certificate programs in more than 20 areas of study and associate degrees in 25 others. These include business, health care, human and public service, culinary arts, brewing, and numerous technical occupations. Kalamazoo Valley also provides student-placement services and works closely with other institutions to ensure the transfer of students' credits. A fully accredited institution, Kalamazoo Valley offers day and evening, online and weekend classes.
