Powerhouse Animation Studio Artist Patrick Stannard to Present AnimOtion Workshops

Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Center for New Media, the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Public Media Network, the Art Council of Greater Kalamazoo, Parchment Community Library and Parchment High School's art department are working together to offer a three-day artist visit from Powerhouse Animation Studios' animation and storyboard artist, Patrick Stannard. The schedule follows.

March 21, 8-9 a.m.
Center for New Media
Stannard will meet with Education for the Arts students. He will show his work and storyboards, give a preview for Saturday's workshop at Public Media Network, discuss various types of animation and affordable education options.

10 a.m., Parchment High School
Meet with Parchment high school art students. He will show his work and storyboards, give a preview for Saturday's workshop at Public Media Network, discuss various types of animation and affordable education options.

6:30-7:30 p.m., Kalamazoo Institute of Arts

Evening Talk (Open to the public)
Stannard will discuss the art and craft of animation with clips from his award winning work and time for Q&A. Reception to follow.

Portfolio workshop, lunch and spend time talking with Kalamazoo Valley Community College animation students.

March 23, 10-11 a.m.

Kalamazoo Valley Museum
Panel discussion (Open to the public) Powerhouse Animation Studios' animation and storyboard artist, Patrick Stannard and Kalamazoo Valley Museum faculty Michael Beyene and Aubrey Rodgers will discuss the future of animation and the many ways animation is used in business, education, and entertainment. Includes Q&A.

1-3 p.m., Epic Center, Public Media Network
Storyboarding workshop

A demonstration of and chance to try your hand at animation storyboarding with storyboard artist and animator of the award winning series Castlevania, Patrick Stannard, of Powerhouse Animation Studios.
