Basic Life Support Class Offered at Kalamazoo Valley

Kalamazoo Valley is offering the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Class Friday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 2 to 6:30 p.m. in Room 5110 on the Texas Township Campus for just $63. This course is a required prerequisite for all health career programs at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, so register now! (https://www.campusce.net/kvcchealth/)

The course teaches high quality CPR with focus on proper chest compressions and AED use during a team resuscitation and the impact of proper chest compressions and defibrillation on return of spontaneous circulation. CPR will be covered for adult, child and infant patient ages. Topics beyond CPR include: recognizing cardiac arrest, foreign body airway obstruction, and ventilation with barrier devices.

Upon successful completion of the CPR requirement and written exam students will be awarded the AHA BLS course completion card.
