New Culinary Arts Leadership Announced

Stephanie Hughes and Cory Barrett, both Kalamazoo Valley Community College culinary arts faculty members, have been selected as co-program directors beginning on January 6, it was announced by Provost and Vice President for Instruction and Student Services Peter Linden, Ph.D.

“We are delighted to be able to make this announcement,” Linden said. “Both have strong backgrounds and experiences making them ideal for this assignment.”

Hughes, who was named 2018 Chef of The Year by the Culinary Federation of America - Battle Creek/Kalamazoo Chapter has been with the college since 2014. Barrett, recently named Food Network’s Spring Baking Champion began his career at the college in 2016.

The college’s culinary arts program also includes certificate and associate degree credentialing in sustainable brewing and food service administration.
