#Sign Your Story Video Campaign

American Sign Language students and instructors from Kalamazoo Valley recently completed a video called #SignYourStory. The signed and captioned campaign includes students, ASL instructors and Deaf community members explaining why ASL is important to them.

"Regardless of the reasons, sign language is vitally important for communication access for many of our community members," said ASL instructor Jamie Rix. "It is our hope that the #SignYourStory video campaign sparks curiosity about Deaf culture and sign language." The ASL classes offered at Kalamazoo Valley can transfer as foreign language requirements. "We encourage everyone to take a class and give ASL a try," Rix said.
