College Announces Changes to Winter Semester 2021 Calendar

Kalamazoo Valley Community College will alter the Winter Semester 2021 academic calendar as part of our best efforts and commitment to plan and adjust to the ever-changing public health situation.

The first day of classes for the winter semester will now be January 15, 2021, rather than January 11. This delay will provide additional quarantine time for those who may come in contact with the virus over the holiday recess.

Kalamazoo Valley also will alter spring break, previously scheduled for the first week in March. The goal is to move through the semester without interruption to help mitigate opportunities for infection and to keep our students focused on completing the semester successfully. The college has scheduled a break for Friday, April 2 through Sunday, April 4.

The Winter Semester 2021 will end on May 3, 2021, as previously announced.

The flexibility provided by our Pandemic Response Plan allows for this pivot based on new information and these changes allow the college to remain in compliance with all guidelines for health and safety.
