Kalamazoo Valley Community College Trustees Approve 2021-2022 Tuition Rates

During its regularly scheduled meeting on April 13, the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Board of Trustees approved 2021-2022 tuition rates and fees.

Tuition and fees effective for the Fall Semester 2021:

In-District $118 per contact hour

Out-of-District $204 per contact hour

Out-of-State $273 per contact hour

International $309 per contact hour

College Vice President of Finance and Business Brian Lueth said, “The cost of attending Kalamazoo Valley is among the lowest in the state. The increase in tuition rates, effective for Fall Semester 2021, continues to allow the college to offer an affordable, high-quality, post-secondary option for students and their families.”

In addition to the 3.5% tuition increase for in-district students, the college collapsed three previously assessed fees into one $156 fee per semester. This fee helps cover costs associated with non-academic services. Kalamazoo Valley Community College provides student parking at all four campus locations, access to the Texas Township Campus wellness and fitness center and access to college libraries, counseling and tutoring services. Students also have access to laptops and Wi-Fi hotspots through the college’s loaner program.

Students enrolling in the same class more than three times will be assessed a $200 per contact hour fee.

“Keeping college affordable has always been a priority at Kalamazoo Valley,” said President L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D. “Our goal is to create a safe environment where all students can learn, belong and achieve success.”

Fall semester begins on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Kalamazoo Valley will offer a combination of in-person, online and hybrid courses. More information about fall semester is available at www.kvcc.edu/register.
