Register for Fall Semester Classes

Kalamazoo Valley Community College is welcoming students to campus both in-person and virtually for the Fall 2021 semester. Classes start Sept. 8 and registration is now open. Register at www.kvcc.edu/register.

To meet student health and safety needs, the college will continue to offer in-person, online and hybrid courses.

According to Sarah Hubbell, director of admissions, registration and records, nearly 60 percent of the classes offered will have some in-person component, with classes being taught either completely in person or hybrid.

“The college has been offering classes primarily online since the beginning of the pandemic,” Hubbell said. “We’re excited to have students back on campus and have a number of great new offerings in our art, culinary and agri-food programs.”

Students, faculty and staff will be required to wear face coverings and continue to follow all CDC and state guidelines as it relates to COVID-19, according to Dannie Alexander, vice president for campus planning and operations.

As of now, we will continue to require face coverings,” Alexander said. “Obviously, that requirement could change as things evolve.”

Students taking classes on campus will also be required to complete COVID-19 Safe at College Training prior to the first day of classes as well as take a daily self-screening health questionnaire on days that they will be on campus. Students, faculty and staff are highly encouraged to be vaccinated but it is not required.The college will be hosting two outdoor events to help students get prepared for the fall semester. Called Inside Out, the events will give students the opportunity to complete the steps necessary to begin classes on Sept. 8.

During Inside Out, attendees can:

•Receive financial aid application assistance

•Complete placement testing

•Meet with an advisor or counselor

•Enroll in classes.

The first event will be held Wednesday, July 28 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Arcadia Commons Campus. The following week, on Aug. 3, the event will be hosted at the Texas Township Campus from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. RSVP is required.
