Programs Leading to Licenses and Certifications

Many professions and certifications are governed by state or territorial regulations. These regulations often dictate specific educational requirements for licensure or certification. For this reason, some of Kalamazoo Valley's programs that lead to professional licensure and state certification may not meet the educational requirements of all states and territories.

See the list of programs here.

Student Attestation

Federal regulation, § 668.14(b)(32)(i) and (ii), requires students to complete an attestation at the time of enrollment into a program that leads to a location bound professional licensure or state certification at Kalamazoo Valley if the student's residence is not in the state or territory that the program is designed for. The attestation serves as a crucial tool to ensure that students engage in the decision-making process with full awareness and consent.

The attestation requires students to:

  1. Acknowledge that they have been informed by Kalamazoo Valley that the program for which they intend to enroll is designed to meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification in specific locations as found here.
  2. Attest to seek employment in a location that meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification.

Student Attestation Process

The information below specifies the process and procedures to be followed regarding obtaining student attestations for Kalamazoo Valley professional licensure programs that may be limited by location.

Step 1:

At the time of enrollment into a location bound licensure or certification program, students outside of the location or territory that the program is designed for will be sent information about the specific licensing requirements for their chosen profession. The information will clearly communicate that the college's program for which they intend to enroll meets the requirements for specific states and territories.

Step 2:

Students will be required to sign an attestation that they understand the intended licensure location of the program and that they plan to obtain licensure and work in a location where the program is intended.

If a student who receives an attestation decides to not complete the attestation they will be ineligible for program enrollment in accordance with federal regulations.
