IT Departments
Administrative Computing
The Administrative Computing staff manages the implementation and maintenance of the Banner administrative system, MyValley, institutional web sites, student e-mail and Moodle. The department is also responsible for user account creation/maintenance.
Arcadia Commons Computing
The Arcadia Commons IT staff install and support the computers, software, and audio/visual systems at Anna Whitten Hall, the Center for New Media and the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. They provide direct assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Museum support is provided, along with assistance in technology planning. Technical support is given for Simplex fire, security, and clock systems.
Instructional Computing
Instructional computing assists faculty with software evaluation and purchases, and assumes primary responsibility for instructional software licensing for the college. They are responsible for the installation and support of Texas Township hardware and software in labs and computer classrooms. Instructional computing staff provides direct student support in the TTC computer lab, and the adjacent seven classrooms.
Media Services
Media Services specializes in audio visual (AV) equipment distribution, AV production, auditorium lighting and sound, and audio/video recordings. Additionally, Media Services provides support for distance learning classrooms. Printing Services specializes in centralized printing services for the college and copiers for the institution.
Network Services
The Network Services staff provides support for data and telecommunications for all KVCC facilities. This includes managing network switches, servers, phone systems, data security, intrusion prevention and wireless connectivity. They are the primary desktop computer support for faculty and staff at the Texas Township. They also support instructional computing at the Texas Township Campus for the science labs, healthcare programs, technical programs, mobile classrooms, the library and the Student Commons. The Network Services staff provides support for the Kalamazoo Valley Groves Campus' administrative staff, Career Academies and facility rental customers. Network Services staff also maintains the voice, video and data systems for KVCC's Public Safety department.
