The Mission
The KVCC Sustainability Committee will work to promote a better understanding of sustainability through education and to advance sustainable practices within the institution and among those it serves to positively affect global change in the health and welfare of people, business, government and the planet we share.

Sustainable Moves
KVCC established the Sustainability Committee in October, 2010 and although the committee is a recent addition to other formal planning processes, KVCC has a history of making sustainable moves including:
- 50kW wind turbine
- Alternative fuel vehicles with EV charging stations
- Double-sided printing
- Energy program - 30% reduction in waste
- Grant application and planning
- Green initiatives such as water garden, green roof, and green cleaning policy
- High efficiency vending equipment
- LEED construction projects
- Native grass plantings
- Recycling initiatives such as institution-wide paper recycling, bottle and can recycling, the Phi Theta Kappa Recycle Project
- Stormwater initiative
- Tree initiatives such as Arbor Day tree planning events, Tree Campus USA project, natural oak savannahs/native tree plantings, campus tree committee, and the Two-For-One tree policy
- Water bottle fill stations
