Center for New Media Art Exhibits
The Center for New Media and The Arcus Gallery, 100 E. Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo hosts art exhibits during Kalamazoo City's Art Hops. Art Hop is normally held on the first Friday of each month. Access the Call for Entry and Loan Agreement and Gallery Guidelines forms here.
Center for New Media & Arcus Gallery
Kalamazoo Valley Community College's Third Annual Kalamazoo Valley Community College High School Art and Design Competition Exhibit is open to all junior and senior high school students throughout the greater Kalamazoo area. The exhibit will open at the Arcus Gallery and Center for New Media in downtown Kalamazoo on Dec. 6, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. during Art Hop and entries are being accepted until Nov. 27.
Please share this information with your students. Each student will be allowed one submission with submissions and forms being collected digitally and physical work being dropped off at Center for New Media by their teachers.
The contest and related exhibit will be on display during the months of December and January in the Arcus and Center for New Media gallery spaces and open on the evening of Art Hop. Awards will be given for Best of Show, first, second and third places.
Awards:
Best of Show - Two semesters of tuition (15 credit max per semester) for Studio Arts or Applied Arts and Media Technologies programs.
1st Place - $500*
2nd Place - $200*
3rd Place - $100*
Honorable Mentions - $50
Show schedule:
Wednesday, Nov. 27 - Deadline for digital submissions to be received.
Wednesday, Nov. 27 - 3:30 p.m. deadline for delivery of physical work to Office Specialist, Cindy Parks at The Center for New Media.
Friday, Dec. 6 - Art Hop, Exhibit opens at 5:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. presentation of awards.
*First, second place and third place award winners will all move up in position and award amount should the Best of Show recipient decide not to take advantage of the tuition credit.
