Dear Colleagues,

In light of the evolving details associated with the health issue COVID-19 (Coronavirus), I am writing to bring you up to date about our response.

We are aware of a few faculty, staff and students who recently traveled to international high-risk areas. The college is working with them according to the Center for Disease Control and Kalamazoo County Health Department guidelines. Currently these individuals are being required to self-quarantine for 14 calendar days. It is essential that quarantined students be held harmless as they complete their academic coursework. We recognize that this could be done in a number of ways. If you need to discuss this further, please contact your respective dean for support and direction.

It is very important that the college continues to provide a welcoming environment for all students. The college prohibits discrimination based on many personal attributes, including national origin. Continue to do your part in demonstrating a welcoming environment for all people. Our utmost concern is safeguarding the health and well-being of the college community.

The college has created and launched an informational webpage regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The webpage is located at www.kvcc.edu/coronavirus. The site will be updated periodically with additional information and resources.

We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to share information as it becomes available.

Thank you.
