March 8, 2021
Greetings Students,
This fine spring weather signals the middle of the semester and the countdown to the Drive-Thru Commencement celebration scheduled for May 2.
Before we get to the end of this semester, however, there is still much to be accomplished. First, do not give up; you are so close to completing your studies. Remember, if you need assistance, engage with your instructor during office hours. If you need additional resources or personalized tutoring, these services are available. We are here to help you achieve your goals.
For those completing your program of study, remember the deadline to petition to graduate in May is March 31. Make time to discuss this option with an advisor or counselor and complete the required paperwork by the deadline.
In addition, for those of you who are not ready to graduate, now is a great time to register for summer semester classes. Completing classes during the summer months is a great way to get ahead and stay ahead on your degree or certificate completion schedule.
Finally, diligence is still required as we fight the spread of the Coronavirus together. Creating a safe and healthy environment at the college is a shared responsibility. I want to applaud you for continuing to follow all health and safety protocols, including:
- Using a face covering
- Maintaining proper social distancing
- Frequent hand washing along with the use of hand sanitizer
- Completion of a daily health assessment prior to arriving on campus
- Receiving the vaccine when it is available
Practicing public health safety recommendations every day, both on and off campus, will help to keep us all safer, all the time.
Stay determined, stay focused and stay well.
Sincerely,
L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D.
President

The college has provided students with shares once a week for the last year.
Valley Food Share distribution is currently a drive-thru service on Thursdays between 2 - 4 p.m. alternating between the Food Innovation Center and the Texas Township Campus. You will receive an email each Thursday afternoon with a link to sign up for a box of food for the next week.
