PTK Celebrates Fall 2022 Induction
Kalamazoo Valley's Alpha Rho Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for two-year colleges, conducted their Fall 2022 Induction Ceremony for new members on Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Texas Township Campus Theater. The student organization not only inducted new members, but also swore-in three new student officers who will serve as the chapter's president, vice president of communications/leadership and vice president of scholarship for the 2022 - 2023 academic year.
Alpha Rho Nu chapter president, Kayleigh Overhuel, introduced the event's guest speaker, L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D., president of Kalamazoo Valley Community College, who provided words of encouragement and celebration during the ceremony.
PTK is a student organization dedicated to the hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service. Their officers, advisors, members and alumni often plan college and community service projects and work together with college administration and staff to plan accordingly.
"I look forward to working with our new inductees as we move forward," said Overhuel. "It really makes a difference being able to have in-person conversations, seeing faces and having hands on involvement in projects."
PTK also offers members with personal and professional development opportunities as well as access to exclusive scholarships for those who quality.
