Phi Theta Kappa to Induct New Members on Oct. 25
Kalamazoo Valley Community College's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for two-year colleges, has recently extended new invitations for membership to eligible students. Those who accept are invited to participate in an optional induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the Texas Township Campus Theater, Room 4240. L. Marshall Washington, Ph.D., president of Kalamazoo Valley Community College, will be the event's keynote speaker.
New members will meet in Room 4230 at 5:30 p.m. for a brief orientation prior to the ceremony and are allowed to bring up to four guests each. RSVP by no later than Oct. 20 is required. New members who are interested in participating must email to indicate their attendance and the number of guests who will be joining them.
PTK offers personal and professional development opportunities as well as access to exclusive scholarships for those who qualify. The student organization also coordinates community service projects with college administration and staff.
Prospective members interested in learning more are encouraged to attend virtual open house events on Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. and on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. Links to join the virtual open houses were included in new member invitation emails.
