"Nature's Impressions: Land, Life and Abstraction," Exhibit Opens Nov. 1

The November exhibit at the Center for New Media in downtown Kalamazoo will feature, "Nature's Impressions: Land, Life and Abstraction," by MRC artWorks. The show opens during Art Hop on Nov. 1 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. and will be on display in the Arcus Gallery for the remainder of the month.

MRC artWorks - a program of MRC Industries, Inc. - is a professional working art studio and retail gallery located at 330 S. Kalamazoo Mall in downtown Kalamazoo. The studio offers unique and affordable art created by individuals with disabilities.

The work also provides an outlet for artists to explore creative self-expression while developing personal growth, dignity and confidence. All artists receive a commission from the sale of their work, which not only serves as their source of income, but also enhances and reinforces their self-esteem.

The Center for New Media's gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Requests for access to gallery spaces can be made during an Arcus Gallery visit or by calling Cindy Parks at 269.373.7881.
