Center for New Media to Host Black Artists Exhibit Feb. 7
In collaboration with the Black Arts and Cultural Center, the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP, Kalamazoo Valley's Center for New Media will host its sixth annual Black Artist Exhibit on Feb. 7, 2025.
The event, held in observance of Black History Month, will highlight the works of local Black artists, and provide a shared connection to the rich Black cultural heritage in the Kalamazoo area. All forms of creative art and mediums will be accepted.
"The Black Artist Exhibit is a celebration of the creativity and brilliance within our community," said Tom Hamann, director of ambient learning experiences and coordinator of campuses. "We look forward to seeing this year's submissions and invite the community to come view our gallery the entire month of February."
Physical work(s) and a digital image copy(s) of work for the February art exhibit should be delivered to Cindy Parks at The Center for New Media on the Arcadia Commons Campus. Please schedule a date and time for delivery by contacting Cindy at or by phone at 269.373.7881. Works must be received by 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27.
