National Apprenticeship Day: April 30, 2025

Historically, National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) has been a significant nationwide celebration that promotes and highlights the importance of apprenticeships across the country. During this week, various stakeholders come together, including employers, current apprentices, program graduates, industry representatives, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce development partners, educational institutions, and federal, state and local government agencies. These partners collaborate to host a range of engaging events, such as workshops, open houses, informational sessions, and panel discussions, all designed to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship programs. These programs play a critical role in strengthening our economy by developing a highly skilled workforce tailored to meet the evolving needs of various industries. Moreover, apprenticeships offer a unique opportunity for career seekers to gain practical experience while earning wages and acquiring industry-recognized credentials. The week serves as a platform to illustrate how these programs create viable pathways for individuals seeking access to in-demand jobs, thereby enriching both their career prospects and the broader economy. NAW emphasizes the importance of collaboration among all sectors involved in the apprenticeship ecosystem to foster growth, innovation, and opportunity.

The U.S. Department of Labor has moved National Apprenticeship Week to the spring in response to stakeholder feedback. To adjust to this new calendar shift, this year, National Apprenticeship DAY is being celebrated April 30, 2025! The week-long celebration will resume in 2026.
