Accreditation and Certified Quality

Our Academy is the only competency-based program in the United States which has earned certification by the Bildungszentrum für Erneuerbare Energien (BZEE). The program is managed under an ISO 9001:2015 certified department within Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

In early 2015, Kalamazoo Valley partnered with ENSA North America to provide Safe Access and Rescue training for persons working at heights. Kalamazoo Valley became a College instructional Partner (CIP) and has since become one of two colleges in the CIP program to also deliver the Global Wind Organisation™ Basic Safety Training (GWO_BST) 4 module course. In addition to these programs, Kalamazoo Valley also delivers the ENSA Telecom Authorized Climber and Rescuer training to members of the telecom community.

Educational Partnerships

Educational partnerships with Heritage Sustainable Energy, Crystal Flash and DTE Energy provide students with direct experience performing hands-on work on industry turbines. The program's trainees perform routine scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on a variety of wind turbines located throughout Michigan.
