CLEP - College Level Examination Program

  1. CLEP Exam fee is $93 per exam
  2. College Composition will replace English Composition with Essay
  3. College Composition Modular will replace English Composition and Freshman College Composition

  • CLEP exams are computer based and administered on computers.
  • A separate registration form is required for each exam.

Military Personnel and Government Funded Civilians
CLEP Exam Fee Free to all eligible military personnel with proper military ID. Kalamazoo Valley Community College waives the
proctoring fee for all Military Personnel and Veterans.

Additional Information
  • Exams are administered Monday through Saturday (except during Summer Semester).
  • Exams are timed for 90 minutes each.
  • An additional 90 minutes is allowed for exams with optional essay.
  • Examinees must present a valid government issued photo ID (i.e. driver's license) with photo and signature. All military examinees must present a current military ID.
  • No food, drinks, electronic communication devices, personal calculators, guests, children and/or pets are allowed in the testing room.
  • Make sure that your institution accepts the CLEP exam you plan to take.

Exam Preparation
  • The current edition of the CLEP "Official Study Guide, 19th edition" may be available for purchase in public bookstores, college bookstores in your area and online. The guide contains information on all 35 exams.
  • Textbooks from comparable classes are a great source of information.
