Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Student Veterans of America is a bipartisan student organization for Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, Veterans of all branches of the military, as well as their dependents and significant others. The organization provides a supportive environment for networking and camaraderie. The emphasis is on fostering relationships within and outside the college to address student veterans’ needs, to facilitate student success, and to increase students’ access to the multitude of available resources.
Objectives:
- Help student veterans successfully transition into KVCC
- Disseminate information about available resources to student veterans through presentations and planned events
- Advocate for student veterans’ needs both on and off campus
The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 4-5:30, as well as the second Wednesday of each month from 4:30-6. Typically meetings are held in TTC 4230, in the Student Commons Forum.
