Following are interpretations of the error messages you may receive when attempting to add or drop a course.

Access Errors

"You have made too many attempts to register this term. Contact your registrar for assistance."
The computer system sets a maximum transaction limitation per semester. You have reached this maximum number of attempts to register and/or drop classes for the semester. Please contact the Admissions, Registration and Records office to have your record reset.

Registration/Add Errors

"Closed section"
The available seats for this 5-digit CRN are full.  Please select another CRN for this course or periodically check this course to see if another student has dropped and a seat is open.

"Course is not available for registration at this time"
Displays if the CRN has been cancelled and you cannot register for this class.  Please select another course or CRN.

"CRN does not exist"
You have entered a 5-digit CRN that does not exist for the semester.  Please double check the course you wish to add and try again.  Also, make sure you are in the correct semester for the course you are attempting to add.

"Error:  Person is not a student, cannot register"
You have not been admitted to register for this semester.  If you indicated on your application that you intended to enroll in a future term and have decided to begin your studies earlier, please contact the Student Service Center to have your student record updated.  Otherwise, please submit an application to KVCC.  Once you are admitted you will be allowed to register.

"Preq and Test score Error"
You have not met the prerequisite requirements for this class.  Please refer to the Prerequisites chart for additional information.  You may need to call the Student Service Center at (269) 488-4100 to schedule the placement assessment if you have not already taken this test, or to schedule an appointment with a Counselor who can help you choose the appropriate level course.

"Registration changes are not allowed. Course status dates not within range for part of term."
It is too late to register for this course.  Please select a course that has not already started.

"You have taken this course at least three times. If you wish to enroll again, you must see a counselor for permission to register and pay an additional $200 per contact hour."
You have already taken the course at least three times. You must now schedule an appointment with a counselor to obtain permission to repeat this course again. You will also be required to pay an additional fee to repeat the course. Call 269-488-4100 to schedule an appointment with a counselor.

"Time Conflict with #####"
The scheduled meeting time of the course you are attempting to add overlaps with another course you have or are trying to register.  The message gives you the 5-digit CRN of the conflicting course.  Please select another CRN for one of the classes that meets at a different time.

Drop/Withdrawal Errors

The Action field is blank, there is no menu available to select drop or withdraw.
It is past the deadline to drop or withdraw from this class.
