  • Take all three placement tests in reading, writing and math. Make an appointment with our testing center at testcenter@kvcc.edu. For more information on these tests: www.kvcc.edu/services/testing/placement.php
  • If you have ACT/SAT scores or you have completed a college level English and/or math class at another institution with a grade of 2.0/C or better, you may be exempt from taking the placement tests. Please submit your ACT/SAT scores to the testing services link above. Your college level English or math class will be evaluated as a part of your transcript evaluation.

  • Terminated Students

Kalamazoo Valley will consider the admittance of students with a Terminated SEVIS record on a case-by-case basis.

In order to be considered for admission on Terminated status, prospective students must submit all standard admissions documents for review AND complete the following steps.

    1. Complete and submit the Terminated Admission Request form
    2. Provide a written statement explaining the circumstances that led to your termination. The statement should include:
      • The reason for your termination
      • The steps you have taken to address the situation
      • The steps you have taken and/or plan to take to prepare yourself for success moving forward
      • Your academic goals and how you believe Kalamazoo Valley can assist with reaching them
      • The Terminated Admission Request Form linked here can assist you in preparing your statement
    3. Participate in an interview (in-person or via Zoom) with the Director of Recruitment & Outreach

Please note that completing the steps outlined above does not guarantee admittance to Kalamazoo Valley. A thorough review of your application materials will be conducted by our office, including, but not limited to, contacting your previous institution to verify the circumstances surrounding your termination.

Furthermore, admission to Kalamazoo Valley does not guarantee reinstatement of Active F-1 status. If admitted to Kalamazoo Valley, you must still complete the standard reinstatement application process as adjudicated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
