Program Information

The nursing program at KVCC prepares the student for a technical career in nursing. Employment opportunities include acute care hospitals, long term acute care and extended care facilities, clinics, offices, home health and ambulatory care. Graduates may transfer credits toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at many colleges and universities. The KVCC academic counselors will assist you with transfer information.

The Kalamazoo Valley Community College nursing program is approved by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. It includes two semesters of prerequisite course work and four semesters of nursing course work for the full-time generic student. Financial aid, scholarships, tutoring, and counseling services are available to assist students.

Upon successful completion of all nursing course work the graduate will receive an Associate in Applied Science degree and will be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Exam for the Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).

Application Process

Nursing AAS Program applications for WINTER 2025 start will be accepted online only October 15-31, 2024 at https://p2.kvcc.edu/utilities/health_careers/.
Applications for FALL 2025 start will be accepted April 1-15, 2025.

You may apply for acceptance into the nursing program if you have completed or are currently enrolled in your last pre-requisite(s). Pre-requisites for fall admission must be completed by the end of the winter semester of the current year. Pre-requisites for winter admission must be completed by the first 7 weeks of the fall semester of the current year.
